RC Mushin Golden History
The Rotary club of Mushin Golden had its first meeting as a Provisional club in the month of May of the same year of charter. The idea of Rotarian Ayo Adeyemi to form a new club in the of Mushin area. He proposed his idea to his club, the Rotary club Akowonjo. The idea was approved and he was allowed to mobilize prospects. All of who came from the business and residential of its immediate jurisdiction and beyond.
After six months of its Provisional stage, the Rotary club of Mushin Golden had gathered members, of Twenty-Seven (27) in their numbers and the club was strong enough to lunch itself as a registered full fledge Rotary club.
Under the District leadership of Past District Governor Patrick Ikheloha in the “Serving Humanity” year, Rotary Club of Mushin Golden was chartered on 30th of November, 2016 with a charter membership strength of Twenty-Seven (27) Rotarians with Rotarian Ayoade Adeyemi as the Charter President.
Rotary Club of Mushin Golden had its first meeting at Segosh Hotel in June 2016 with fifteen members, this membership grew to Twenty-Seven (27) members by October 2016 and by November 30th 2016, the club was formally Charter and the meeting venue moved from Segosh Hotel to Standard Hotel, Ifelodun Street, Mushin before it was moved finally to Eagles Club on Adeniran Ogunsanya, Surulere. The club continue to have its fellowship at this venue till lockdown as a result of the Corona virus pandemic in the year 2020. At present, Rotary club of Mushin Golden meets at Avital Suites and Resort. Sam Shonibare street, off Ogunlana Drive, Surulere.
Rotary Club of Mushin Golden, one of the young and vibrant club in this present Rotary year and we strongly believe that by few more Rotary years, our membership would have grown massively and also embark on many Projects that will be beneficiary to our immediate community.
For the first time in the history of the club, in the last Rotary year, the club produced the sixth presidents who is also the first of its kind, female president of the club. It repeats the trend by having another female president. Making it two females in a consecutive role. Over time since its charter, in conjunction with the support of all members, Rotary Club of Mushin Golden have carried out various project and won awards at district level.
